River House, 9 miles north of Jefferson

March 27th, 2008 by Helen

riverhouse.jpgRiver House, Grassy Creek, NC

What a marvelous, totally delightful evening my friend Barbi and I had on Sunday.  It was my first time enjoying a meal at River House, located about 9 miles north of Jefferson.  The experience is unique for our area.  Not only was the food superb, the evening was simply magical.  The ambience is laid-back and relaxed.  We were treated to extraordinary music.  The owner, Gayle Winston, has succeeded in her goal to create a salon, a mileu of art, extraordinary food, a warm and inviting sociability.   In a very short time, everyone was talking with everyone — across tables, as though we were all long-time friends.  I highly recommend River House to anyone wanting to move beyond ordinary dining to an intimate evening where you’ll find that nurturance is more than food for the body, but rather the  heart-warming, simple human connection of one person to another.  Check out their website:  riverhousenc.com.  Or, email riverhouse@skybest.com and ask to be put on their mailing list, to be informed of upcoming special evenings to enjoy and hold close to your heart and memory.

Hot Tubs in log cabins or other homes

March 7th, 2008 by Helen

hottub.jpgMany of my buyers consider installing a hot tub, either solely for their enjoyment or to boost vacation rentals.  I thought of you hot tub enthusiasts when I ran across the article accessible via the link, below.  The article introduces you to many considerations you’ll want to mull over before you buy.  Take a look at it and I believe you’ll find it helpful!
