Coe Realty's Calendar: April 2020

April-reduced-1-of-1
I do love trees. My favorite most relaxing time is spent out in the woods with trees.  Here's a giant who has lived along Old John's River Road, one of the oldest entry points into the High Country.  This tree is as old, perhaps older, than the road has existed.

Coe Realty's Calendar: January 2020

front-from-the-road-1-of-1
My 2020 calendar is finished.  I have given away quite a few calendars but do still have about 10 left to give away.  Let me know if you'd like one.    The January picture is of one of the many summer blooming, yellow flowers that help you feel bright and sunny on grey winter Mountain January days.  This flower was abo...

The Watauga Real Estate Market -- A Review of Calendar Year 2019

use-this-odds-of-selling-most-recent-right-size
2019 has been quite a ride in the real estate world. There have been stunning changes in the home market moving rapidly for both sellers and buyers in the direction we say in 2018, and far different from our many recession years. The land market has shifted as well, not as dramatically but definitely in the direction many sellers would like to see. I...

Coe Realty's Calendar: October 2019

october-catepillar-its-this-one-1-of-1
What caught my eye?  How nature put together for me the brilliant yellow and orange of the caterpillar next to the pale lavender of the blossoms.  I wouldn't have thought of that.  FYI, I'm beginning work on the 2029 calendar.  Always love to hear from folks who would like to have one!

Jan-2019-pic-smaller-1-of-1
'Hebron Colony Falls' is, to me, a happenstance name inappropriate to the beauty of this treat.  Reach it via an off shoot of Boone Fork Trail, about a mile from paring in Price Park Picnic area.

What's the Market Doing? October 2018

Odds-of-Selling-Oct-2018-short-graph
What's the Watauga Market Doing?  I'm often asked this question.  Here's a summary:   We continue yet again to have a low inventory of homes and a large inventory of land. For the single family residence market, we have the lowest inventory I've seen since 2011. Although the number sold and the number under contract are down slightly,...

Coe Realty's Calendar October 2018

October-reduced-1-of-1
These trees are much photographed.  They are easy to get to, on the Parkway where Green Hill Road intersects.  I call them 'Brother Trees' because another sest of trees I shoot I call 'Sister Trees.'  This Fall, at this time one had shed its leaves but the other had not.  I hadn't noticed that on site while shooting them, in my ...

Taken when it was far enough into Spring for a bed of bright yellow blossoms yet on this chilly morning Grandfather's crown is covered with frost.  Always, always, a surprise awaits us in the mountains, if we stop to pause to see it, and take it in.

Look inside a rosebay rhododendron blossom to find an intriguing, intricate world.  You'll likely see more of these close-ups of rhododendron blooms from me.  An unforeseen passion to photograph them has captured me.  The image in my mind's eye proves elusive.

Coe Realty's Calendar April 2018

People don't usually gather blackberry blossoms to augment beauty in their homes.  Daffodils, hyacinths, lilies, yes.  Blackberry blossoms -- too humble or maybe it's the briars!  Yet, humbling beauty results from framing the tall grandeur of Grandfather Mountain with these lovely small blossoms, overlooked often in anticipation for ...
