Join Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy and River Link for a free, hands-on streambank restoration workshop
at SAHC’s Jenkins Branch Farm near Alexander, NC. Participants will learn practical techniques to repair and manage eroded
streambanks through an instructional session followed by live stake planting, with an optional guided hike to enjoy scenic mountain views.
Pre-registration is required.
Schedule:
9:30 AM – Welcome and introductions
9:45 AM – Instructional session near the barn
10:30 AM – Hands-on streambank planting
12:00 PM – Lunch and optional guided hike (please bring your own lunch)
No prior experience needed. Please dress warmly in layers, with sturdy footwear. Tools and work gloves will be provided (but if you have gloves you prefer to use, please bring them).
