Fall Colors in the Blue Ridge Mountains

Late September through November is peak leaf peeping season! North Carolina’s mountainous High Country varies so much in elevation that it gives us an extensive fall leaf color show. Although unpredictable weather variables will effect each individual season, the biology department at Appalachian State University has mapped out the times and locations where you can most likely peep a premium vista of seasonal foliage.
