Added due to popular demand, this encore cinema presentation of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay brings the Metropolitan Opera’s acclaimed Live in HD series to the big screen.
Composed by Mason Bates with a libretto by Gene Scheer and based on Michael Chabon’s Pulitzer Prize–winning novel, the opera follows two Jewish cousins who create a comic-book superhero while navigating identity, creativity, and resistance during the rise of Nazism.
This performance was recorded live earlier this season and features Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting a dynamic production by Tony Award–winning director Bartlett Sher.
